Ikat Eye Candy

While leafing through this month's House Beautiful doing my housework today I spotted and fell in love with Thibaut's Island Ikat Wallpaper.

It is deliciousness itself and this colourway of blue, white and green is so fresh and perfect for summer.

I'm also loving the Marathon fabric featured here too...

And check out the other colours in comes in ... yum...

Have a great weekend! xx

Favourite Children's Rooms

I don't know what it is with me at the moment (maybe I'm broody?!) but I'm getting so much joy over children's rooms.  Maybe it is that they are just the perfect excuse for joyous colour and pattern.

Here are a few of my favs at this precise moment in time... all scrumptious x

Monday Brights

I'm crushing on pretty perfect kimonos in beautifully bright colours.

When paired with denim shorts and a plain vest they are the perfect outfit maker - especially with this flighty blighty weather! Yum Yum!

Joseph's Room Design

I've been busy re-jigging Joseph's room as it seemed to be a hodge-podge of colours and crazy things.
He turned six this month and I wanted the room to reflect that. So I decided to streamline his room, calm it down a bit and make it a haven he could sneek off to when he needs to escape his little brother!

I'm eagerly awaiting the new rug but everything else has just been swapped around and edited using our existing furniture and bits and pieces.

Can't wait to show you the finished room! What projects have you been working on? XX

The Wanted List

I know chevron has been around blogosphere in all shapes, sizes and guises for, like, ever but here in the UK the simple chevron soft furnishing is the rarest thing. Nowhere to be seen.

It became so serious that I embarked on a DIY pink chevron rug for my dressing room. It came out well after many hours of intensive taping and painting... and then the puppy had an 'accident' on it. No further details are needed I'm sure!

So you can imagine the big cheery grin on my face when I found a black and white chevron rug at Urban Outfitters (£65). It could go literally anywhere in my house so that is numero uno on The Wanted List!

Pretty patterns + monograms = Gorg-e-ous!

I heart these mugs from Anthropologie (£8), only problem is hubby and I have same initials and so do the little sproglings. Well, I have to get one for my mum, one for my sister...

And finally these little friendship bracelets from Chambers & Beau at Notonthehighstreet are so cute, wouldn't they make a lovely present?

What have you got your eye on? xx

AWOL

I am sorry I have been absent without leave for some time now!

This is for two reasons:

1) We have had non-stop visitors since moving in in March, I feel like a hotel owner/ porter/ maid/ tourist guide at times but it has been fun. This is because we have moved near this...

Henley On Thames

And this..

Marlow

And this...

Windsor

We have had such a great time exploring!

2) The house we've moved into is a rental. It's gorgeous and is painted tastefully throughout so I'm really lucky but it seems to have (temporarily) made my inspiration juices dry up. Does that sound crazy?

I was just moaning to my husband about how I would love to choose some crazy wallpaper to put up and he obviously thinks I'm mad and his reply was something along the lines of 'You are never happy!'. Maybe it's just a girl thing?! xx
